Depending on your size and weight, you might want to get some bearpaws, or else you'll be sinking in and struggling to keep up.
I've worked in the woods much of my career in areas of deep snow. I never understood the idea of recreational snowshoeing. For me, snowshoeing was for the purpose of getting somewhere to do something when the snow was deep. The thought of doing it for fun has eluded me.
Probably the same reason I can't enjoy mac and cheese because I lived on it pretty much the entire time I was at college (it was 5 boxes for $1 on sale back then). So now, I can't bring myself to eat it! :)
