Taped patch 16 x 16 in the center of the roof could possibly be a removed AC unit. So there might be the bottom half of an AC still on the ceiling, but the actual AC unit is gone. If there is no hole or anything inside the trailer No matter what though I would get up on the roof and poke around the patch with my finger tip. If the roof is solid under the patch and the tape seems well bonded then I wouldn't worry about it. If it's a removed vent or AC unit then you'll have to decide if it's better to leave well enough alone, or to try to fix it.
