They usually don't - has been my experience. They'd have to order something like that. That is likely why he was telling you whatever he had there could tow 11k because he was trying to shift trucks and get paid. They are not known for their ethics even if they had 26 years to get that part right.
As you noted, it is best to do your homework BEFORE going to the dealership - truck or RV - since the people selling there are motivated by something else.
