You don't have much confidence in a Jeep Wrangler do you? There is a big range between gravel roads and hard core rock crawling.
Doesn't matter how much confidence you have in it, if you're wheeling it hard you can break things, rendering the Jeep un-towable without a trailer. The trailer is just an insurance policy.
Plus if you're wheeling the Jeep you probably have pretty aggressive tires that are going to absolutely HOWL going down the road, and they'll wear quickly.
