Mine are tight as well. The upper roof tensions the side canvas when deployed. I've found the issue is closing it up in the wind because when you lower the roof, the canvas gets loose ro you have to provide a negative air situation inside the unit (I do that with the not so Fantastic Fan and when it's almost all the way closed, go around and make sure the canvas is tucked in well. Takes maybe 2 minutes extra.
