Softer Ride for one ton Dually

I have posted questions in the past on this subject of getting a softer ride for a 2001 Dodge Dually one Ton. From many many responses I have about decided that the best approach is to remove the bottom leaf which is the overload. I have been told by many that this provides great results in better comfort. I already have the air bags to use if necessary in carrying my Lance 10 footer camper which 3700 lbs. I am mostly interested in the ride when loaded. My wife's back will not tolerate riding in it when empty and we don't need help with that part of the issue.
So had anyone tried this remedy and found it not to be the answer to softening the ride when loaded?
  • For those considering sulastic, they do have $30 off promotion, that require registration on their site.
If you don't find it, PM me for details.
Supplies for 2017 Fords are limited.
  • Kelderman has 2 different air ride systems, there is the full air ride system for 3000$ for our 2nd gen dodges and the other is a hybrid system like the sulastic suspension but they use air bags, cost is 1500$. Here is a link: https://kelderman.com/shop/?vehicle_year=10&vehicle_make=28&vehicle_model=47
  • Sulastic UPDATE
I bought them and install on my F350 dually.
The universal size took 4 and 5 shims in my case, what I assume they fit F450 as well.
That is a lot of shimming, but if they are beefed up for my application, that should be good with camper.
I took empty truck for short drive and it is improvement.
I would not call it WOW as on potholes the dually is still lumberwagon, but now I don't feel every sewer cover.
So for $300 and 2.5hr installation it is worth it IMHO. Even when I will have to replace it every 3 years.
In few days I will take it with camper and update will follow.
    Thanks to whoever recommended them.
  • I just bought the solastics and will have then on 7/25 and will let you know.
