Solar Eclipse in Totality

We observed the Solar Eclipse
In Totality at Olallie Lake, Oregon

This video shows us getting ready
To photograph and record the event

You can see a GoPro recording of
The darkness increasing around us
Starting at about 8 minutes in
Sorry, I was changing filters
Not concentrating on video

You can see the 400 MM images
Starting at about 13 minutes in
There are two sequences
First are the untouched images
As the event crosses the sky
Second are the enlarged centered
Images for a different perspective

Hope you enjoy the video

It wasn't closed due to the Whitewater fire? I was at Ollalie the day it blew up big.

There were fires heading south towards Detroit and smoke got really thick North of Marion Forks.
    Olallie was clear.

  • Just got back from Wyoming on the centerline, wow what a show, not just the eclipse but the people. I guess my secret spot isn't such a secret. That's ok they all left as it was ending. talk about dust had to go for a ride up high till the dust cleared, then back to normal, all alone like I like it. So glad I went.

    J and K,
I watched your vid. One guy near us during the Eclipse said, "Fastest 2 minutes in my lifetime." He was one of the many who tried to record the event somehow got all tangled up. Before the Eclipse I read that you should try to keep it simple and enjoy the moment, which is what we did. I had my cheap cool pix rolling on a tiny tripod facing the camper and luckily, the exposure did not try to override the darkness. Then there's the old adage, "If it can go wrong it will go wrong."
It was good to relive the moment through someone else's eyes.
I wonder how many thousands of Eclipse Vids will show up on You Tube.
