SOLAR INSTALLATION on Palomino Bronco...Done!

I just finished installing a Solar Panel on my Palomino Bronco Pop-Up truck camper.

Too long to post all the pictures and verbiage here so I posted it on my web page.

Enjoy!
  • Yup...Every once in a while I have a "moment".... :-)

    THANKS!

With Solar Panels, the object of the game is short wire runs of the largest wire possible.

If I ran the wire back to where Palomino brings the electricity to the roof, I would have added nearly 20' of wire. With this method my feed wire to the Solar Controller is only about 6'.

The hole in the roof is large enough to accommodate #6 wire if I wanted to upgrade or add a second panel.

The Jury is still out on the controller. I think I'm going to buy a Morningstar Controller and a Trimetric display.

The best web site I've ever seen on Solar is here:

Lots of opinion backup up by real world experience....
  • I love the way you installed the "slide in/slide out" pipe to accomodate the pop up roof. Very ingenious. Great job!!
