I have been very pleased with my solar panels. I have 160w, but I would say 100w is a minimum. One of the features I like of the permanently installed panels is that with a good solar controller they keep the battery topped up and properly maintained 365 days a year. Before I got the solar I was killing camper batteries periodically.
As mentioned above avoid running your batteries below 50% charge to maximize their life span. Get a battery meter and check it regularly when camping (check it when you aren't running anything off the battery since if you have stuff drawing amps from the battery as you read the state of charge you will get an artificially low reading).
