Some lessons for us truck campers

Saw this on another forum and was impressed with all the storage and ideas that he had. I realize that it is not a truck camper but for those that are looking at building or modifying a tcer some good ideas.

  • That was awesome. Got me thinking about my 16BH and how the front of the small one he built is the same angle, what a great place for storage, just concerned about how to mount. Now I am curious how to mount things on the outside walls of a trailer. I would like outside speakers, better start there. He does not seem to care about audio in his unit.
  • Thanks.
    Definitely interesting.

The owner/builder definitely utilized his space well.
Many "professionals" could learn form him.

I feel that one of the great things about his project is that it is totally his.
His home, his hobby, his project the way he wanted it. Now living the life HE wants.

He definitely has both intelligence and talent.

That guy is something else. He's been so many places, and not quickies, like 4 monthes at a time. And at 75 he's planning on doing Russia and Mongolia. Im impressed, I too wish I had the guts.

    I agree with you.

  • Yah, mann, what a work of art that and the others are...
    Great job... and the traveling???

Was helpful on seeing the organization of just the food stuffs. Been trying to figure out the best way to handle all that "kitchen" stuff without packing/unpacking each stop.

Yikes, I don't want to read anymore or seeds will get planted... like down to South America? heheh, stop-stop-stop, heheheh, fun..
  • Those things looks good and very interesting when finished, but lot of hobbyist have no idea about amount of work involved.
I am mechanic turned General Contractor, so am probably the best qualified person for such job.
Years ago I was considering converting bus into motorhome. Yet I had SOME idea what it involves. Run into several projects where a guy bought old bus for $7000, spend 2 years working on it, putting $5000 into materials and when the project threatened the marriage, he was selling it for $4000.
I bought older conversion, meaning all I had to do was repairs.
Still replacing holding tanks, doing some corrosion repairs, upgrading electrical took 6 months full time as bussines was slow at the time.
So for those considering such thing BEWARE.
