Our F150 is an '03, with 5.4 and factory tow. Even though the one you're looking at is a bit less beefy, with good routine maintenance and sensible driving, you should be fine. Suggest you have the transmission drained and refilled - NOT FLUSHED - before you get started. Then you know that's good. Get a good WDH with sway, the brake controller and use a light foot when towing. Most say they tow best and most efficiently between about 55 and 63 or so....once your foot gets heavy, that 10 mpg is history. The hills in KY are awesome and there are some great CGs, but you won't like the stop at Pilot. Just the way it is.
