Sometime things do work smoothly
In a previous post I had mentioned that I hit a road hazard that bent the TT tire rim, broke the rear passenger side spring and shredded the tire before I could stop.
I was in Indianapolis about 125 mile from home.
I called the XtraRide roadside service, and they sent a flatbed truck to haul my TT. I requested they haul it to Camping World in Greenville IN because I knew they worked on RV repairs.
Camping World said they would provide an estimate of repairs shortly even though they were quite busy with a shipment of new models.
I returned home and the next day, a Friday, contacted Progressive Insurance. I received a call from my agent in Ft. Wayne IN who said they would contact their an adjuster in Indy on Monday.
Monday afternoon I received a call from Camping World saying they had been contacted by the insurance company and they would send their repair estimate to the local progressive adjuster and copy me by email shortly.
By Wednesday and Thursday though a number of phone calls and emails, Camping World, the Progressive adjuster and I had reviewed the proposed repairs and repair costs and were all in agreement. By Friday parts were ordered and I was advised that the lead time would be about two weeks. During that time I received a check for the agreed upon amount from Progressive less my deductible.
It is surprising how much damage was done, both axels, the tire and rim, the rear spring, the steps, and a stabilizer jack were damaged in the impact or by flying rubber. All new running gear was ordered.
We were fortunate that the parts would be available and in a bit over two weeks Camping World let me know the parts were in house. About a week later I was advised that our TT was ready for pickup.
We drove to Greenfield and picked up our TT and it is now setting it the yard waiting to be loaded for our next adventure.
I can only say that the entire process was seamless and took just over 5 week, thanks to the hard work and excellent communications of the XtraRide, Progressive and Camping World personnel.
