I feel for you. I had a very similar thing happen. I blew off the hose on my Ford 6.0 driving from Ohio back to Georgia when I bought my first 5er. Did not break it - just blew off. Had to slide it back on while on the side of the road (traffic racing by, hot turbo charger, etc etc) Got a few miles down the road, blew it off again. Thought I had lost the hose clamp. Found it on the far side of the engine compartment. Drove the rest of the way home without trying to stay up to the speed limit over hills. Short version - found Ford had a recall for that issue.
