Yes, when you state a rule's reason, there are those who will argue it for eternity.
But, if you give no reason, there are those who will argue it for eternity.
Mom gets away with "because I said so" because she is Mom and you do what Mom says "or else". No one else has that sort of power -except Dad. Everyone else can be nagged at, argued with, pleaded with, etc., to be turned around.
In reality, public campgrounds can only exclude a type of RV for public safety reasons. They can't deny TCs because "they leave tons of stuff around their site", but they can deny soft-sided RVs because the bears in the area are known to rip through the canvas parts and tents.
One is denying for their own interests, the other is denying for the safety of the visitors. You can argue it, but public safety will win out and that is why there are normally far fewer bans against specific types of rigs in public campgrounds than there are in private parks. Because unless they can offer a public safety reason, a public campground denyibg TCs will create a huge negative publicity feed for the overseeing government. And governments aren't supposed to deny the public.
