SPOT, DeLorme, or ?

We had a SPOT emergency locator device but it died. I've heard that Delorme has a version as well. I'd appreciate hearing what experience you guys have had with emergency devices.

We're in our 70s and love to roam the back roads where there is no cell coverage. While we are in good health, emergencies happen and we like to be prepared. Thank you for your help.
