Using the "great stuff" poor man nozzle, they estimate 1 can will cover 3.5 square feet with 1 inch of foam. I need to cover approximately 100 square feet, using approx 2 inches of foam. Doing the math, 100 sq ft /3.5 sq ft per can = 28.57 cans to make 1 pass x 2 for the second pass for the 2 inch coverage = 57.14 cans. So say 60 cans to figure waste. 60 x $4 per can I'm looking at $240 to spray can foam my roof and back wall.
The 2 part 200 square foot professional grade foam diy kit from Lowes is $333.44 at my local store.
So in the end, I have to wonder is the $93.44 savings worth all the extra effort of messing around with all those spray cans?
