Spree Decals fading and shrinking

I have a 2010 Spree that I bought new. The decals have shriveled to the point that they have become an eyesore and I feel like taking them off. Anyone else have experience with this?

  • I've never tried this place but, if all else fails, maybe they can get decals for a better price. Just an idea, if it works, let us know.

  • We recently bought a KZ Spree and asked about this before we bought it. I think I read about it on the KZ forum. We were told that 2 or 3 years ago they changed to a new supplier to fix this problem. No idea if they will replace them but if you send me a PM I can give you the contact name of someone at KZ that you can talk to. You shouldn`t have that happen to your unit that is not very old....
  • i took a hair dryer and removed all of my brand decals.
    a hot day helps
go slow or the adhesive will stick to the trailer.
  • Try to see if than manufacturer will send you new ones for free? The front decals on my 2011 started coming off in the first year. Had them replaced under warranty. It happened again this spring, front decals started coming off. I contacted Dutchmen to complain, even though I am out of warranty, they should last longer than a year!

They replaced the decals free of charge, shipped them to me, but would not pay for the labour to replace them. Which is fine, because the dealer likely messed up the application the first time, which is why they started peeling again.

IMO, decals should last longer than 2 or 3 years...cripes, how many trailers from the 80's and 90's still have their decals, LOTS. Everything is made so cheap now and not meant to last at all....ughhh :h
  • I ordered a decal from the manufacturer. If you can get the old one off, you might be able to order one the same way.
  • The 3M eraser wheel is the easiest method. Let the wheel do the work and use light pressure or it can burn the paint/gelcoat. If by chance that happens, polishing compound will restore the finish.

Most of the RV manufacturers use the cheapest vinyl graphic material available to keep costs down and the consumer is stuck with the later repairs.
  • Yup, but only where the sun hits them more than the rest. The one's on the back against the garage are just like new. Nature of the beast, I think.
  • I stripped mine and it looks much better. I had a very difficult time because the decals were installed over full body paint so I couldn't use one of those decal eraser deals because it damaged the paint.
I tried goof off, lighter fluid, goo gone and desolvit. The latter worked the best for me.
