Research the current automatic transmissions and you may feel differently about your choice of a manual. In 2005, I would have chosen the manual Dodge, but the GM or Ford had superior auntomatics to their manual offerings. In 2015, Ram was the only one offering a manual but it is so far behind the Aisin in performance, that there was no reason even consider it.
I bought my last two trucks new with the base trim level and added the items I wanted. This has resulted in very capable trucks for minimal expense verses what I found preconfigured on dealer lots.
