More and more companies are going to automatics in their OTR trucking fleets. They are more fuel efficient than standard transmission trucks. The company I escort for has switched to automatics in all their OTR trucks. Volvo trucks claim they have a new OTR truck, with an auto, that is getting 10 MPG!
