ST tires vs LT tires.

I had a "tire man" tell me that all ST tires are made in China. I'm not interested in unsupported opinions, but if someone actually knows if this is true or not, lets hear from you. I use Firestone 10ply LT tires on my trailer.

  • Your "tire man" needs a new line of work, seeing as he doesn't have a clue about the industry.
  • Almost all tire manufacturers have Far East sources. There is no guarantee where your next set will come from.

The Wranglers I bought in 2009 were made in the USA, the set I bought in 2010 were made in Canada. It's a guess where the next set will come from.

The brand name tire makers claim that no matter where they are manufactured, the tire they sell must meet the company's standards.

Let's face it, if all the stuff made in the Far East was junk none of our electronic devices would work and all our clothes would fall off our backs.

For better or worse it is a global market and not likely to change any time soon.
  • That my friends is what is called a "Red Herring". Start a topic in one direction and then turn it ninety degrees.
  • So, are we going with the heading, or your posted question?
  • It's not a requirement for ST to be China made, but most of them are.

Nearly all come from China, there is one brand from another Asian country. I don't buy any of them.
