I have a single axle travel trailer that came with Goodyear ST205/75R14 Load range C. When I looked carefully into the weight of my trailer loaded for camping I realized I was close to capacity. I changed to M8008 ST225/75R15 load range D and also changed to the correct 15” alloy wheels for the higher psi of the D rating. The 15” wheels were hard to find in my bolt pattern. I have had my fair share of tire problems on the road and I want a decent margin of capacity. It really isn’t that much more money for the higher D rating tire and the alloy wheels look nice compared to the old white spoke wheels. My opinion is that C rated pricing is so close to D rating the margin of safety is worth it a few extra bucks.
