Our current F250 CC is our first short bed for 5th wheel hauling. I won't buy another short bed. With my standard Reese 15k non slider and tool chest, there's not much room for anything else. I got into a couple of spots that I had to go around the long way to avoid hitting the cab so I installed another set of bed rails putting the pin 52" behind the cab. No wheelies and no more clearance issues. Our 1700~lb pin weight took 140 lbs off the front and added it to the rear. Towing, I can't tell the difference. Heavier pin weights might be a different story.
