Starcraft AR-One...no bathroom sink?

I have looked at every single floorplan of every single hybrid out there and I am on TT overload! I'm zooming in the the Starcraft AR-One 18 and hoping to check one out in person this weekend. I have scoured the photos from numerous rv centers and I have yet to see a picture of a bathroom sink.....really? Am I right that there is no bathroom sink? I so hope that I am wrong....:h

  • i find it hard to believe that you have an Expedition with only a 5000lbs. towing capacity. do you mead an Explorer, because that's the tow capacity of most v-6 Explorers.
Expy's have way more towing capacities as Explorers. where did you get the 5000 number? it would help knowing year of the Expy, engine size, rear end ratio and if it has factory tow package.

yes, "sticks and tin" trailers are usually entry-level trailers and have wood framing, compared to the filon-sided aluminum framed ones.

yes, the 18FB has a rear canvas bunk end. the trailer listed above the 18FB name does not, on Starcraft's website.

almost all smaller single axle hybrids have very poor CCC's. but i think you need to look more closely at what your Expy's actual towing capacity is. hard to believe that a v-8 Expy has that low of a rating.

finally, if you've never owned a popup or hybrid, you really need to think this out. most hybrid owners are former popup owners and love sleeping under canvas.
many hybrid novices don't take the canvas into consideration and end up selling the hybrid because of the few negatives of the canvas.
you have to really like the canvas bed experience. most of us do and prefer that to a traditional "shoebox" travel trailer.
  • All of this is new to us as we pull a "vintage" '72 Lark that does not have a bathroom/shower. She is a wonderful trailer but I just can't go out again without the comfort of a loo!
I am very new to all of this and just trying to find a good floor model to meet our needs. We have a ford expedition pull vehicle with a 5k tow capacity. It will mainly be me, my husband, and 12 year old son, who may bring a friend on the weekend trips. We have two 20-something kids who want nothing to do with this, but you never know....keeping my fingers crossed to get at least one trip a summer out of them.

The rv center did refer to this as a hybrid trailer, it does have one canvas bed. I had some requirements going into this search - BAThROOM, a freezer, oven. This AR-one only has one of those, the bathroom without a sink. We would really like to keep our TT at about 18ft. Again, we are newbies to this, so do you think this is a cheap model? I know someone mentioned "tin and sticks" ... already can't remember the exact wording but something like that.

We haven't seen it in person, but hoping maybe we can take a ride out there today. We did look at a beautiful 17ft. Travel Star, but it is just too small. And thanks to this forum I looked into the CCC and found that it only was 281 lbs. I'm thinking all of you are going to say that is sooo not enough. Thanks for any and all advice!
  • I thought so too, but it appears there's a hybrid bed in the rear of this "stick and tin" trailer or at least one version of it.

I consider a bathroom sink (and mirror and cabinet) highly desirable, but I usually travel with at least one woman...

  • The AR-ONE 18 is a Travel Trailer, not a Hybrid, might want to post your question there.
  • What is so bad about washing hands and brushing teeth at the kitchen sink? In a small trailer space is at a premium why waste by having two sinks two steps apart like rexlion mentioned.
  • when you're looking for a stripped-down super light TT, you gotta expect the manufacturer is going to sacrifice something.
in this case, one thing is the bathroom sink.
i Googled that model and none has a sink in the bathroom.

sounds like you must have tow capacity limits to be looking at this one.
most of the AR-One models don't have a bathroom sink.
  • Bump in hopes that an AR-One owner will say they have a bathroom sink and they don't wash their hands or brush their teeth in the kitchen sink!! The only reason for my upgrade was to get a bathroom, never did I think it wouldn't include a sink.
  • I like a bathroom sink to wash my hands and brush my teeth. we would never have a rv without one. can,t belive the manufactures would build without a sink.heck guess we don,t need a shower either..
  • Who needs a bathroom sink, when the kitchen sink is just 2 steps away? My TT has no bathroom sink and it causes no difficulty.
