Starcraft Autumn Ridge 278BH

Is this a pretty good quality camper? The prices seem to be reasonable. I had a Keystone Sprinter 323BHS and sold it because it was just too long and heavy. I'm looking to get into something a little smaller, lighter and cheaper. Also, other suggestions on bunk house campers would be appreciated. $15,000 and under and no more than 3 or 4 years old. Pulling with an 06 Dmax.

Thanks.
  • Very good bang for the buck, plus lots of little extra features that many tt don't have. Black tank flush, water pump has antifreeze intake already on it, etc. Well built and solid.
  • Just a fyi, the 2 year warranty began on the 2014 models. That x-tra year over most manufacturers is nice!
  • We owned a total of 3 Starcraft pop-ups. When we had the second one and had some problems with it, Starcraft was excellent about taking care of us and even overnight air freighted an axle assembly to repair our camper. Our third Starcraft served us well for 10 years and was still in great shape when we traded it in. If you're buying new, the 2 year warranty is a bonus as most manufacturers only give a one year warranty!
    Good luck and enjoy!
  • Thanks much for the responses. I have been trying to decide between a new/newer StarCraft or a few years older TT with a slide and I just keep coming back to the StarCraft. A good basic camper that I won't be afraid to use. Thanks again for the responses.
  • We have a 2012 Autumn Ridge.Although it is not a bunk house,we have encountered very few problems with ours.Would not hesitate at this point to buy another Starcraft.
  • Have a 2013 Starcraft tt and very happy with it. Jayco owns and manufactures Starcraft and if you research, you will find they are a well established and respected company.
  • Hi. I can't speak to that exact floorplan... - I have a 2014 329BHU Autumn Ridge purchased new at the end of June. We've only had it out 6 nights so far. So. With that in mind - so far we have been very happy with our unit. It is very well constructed - but not 100% perfect. I have a short list of things ( as in 3 or 4 minor items) to get fixed under warranty after our camping season ends but nothing so serious that it can't wait till then.

Overall we are very happy and love the camper.
  • I have a Starcraft AR-One 17RD (little brother to your camper) and have been very pleased with it. We didn't want to spend a ton of money and since it is just my wife and I 90% of the time, we didn't want to get a huge camper we really didn't need. We also didn't want a loan on a camper and didn't want to break the bank to buy it. It is no-nonsense (no slides, etc), but is a good basic camper. We've had absolutely no problems with it in the two years and thousands of miles we've had it. I would recommend it to anyone.
