Thanks all for the replies. A lot of things to consider and I want to make sure I get it right the first time. For reference, one of the TT's we are looking at is the Jayco Jayflight 26BH. There are several manufacturers that make similar models, but this is the floorplan I'm looking at right now.
I see many folks have nothing but praise for the Ecoboost, but I'm not totally convinced the bugs haven't been compeletely worked out yet. Plus it seems for a little more money I could get a HD truck which would handle anything I might want in the future. However, I've had the opportunity to drive an F250 Crew Cab Work Truck and it seemed pretty rough riding while empty on the highway. Power seemed OK (6.2L I think) but I wasn't a fan of the tranny as it didn't seem very smooth.
For those commenting on interior space of a crew cab for six people, I think the space of current crew cabs rival the space we have in the Expy, at least for the first and second row seating. Yes, the Expy has the third row, but we always have to put the larger third row seat down to accomodate our stuff, so I really don't think we would be missing out.
Right now I'm leaning towards a 1-ton SRW, just can't decide between gas/diesel. I'm sure gas would be sufficient but it seems everyone who gets a diesel raves about them. I think I'll wait for the new GM HD's to come out and decide then.
