Well, I still think you are crazy. You aren't giving up the truck bed because you don't even own a truck yet.
I understand though. I had a pickup for 13 years. Loved it. We lasted for 2 years traveling 3-5 hour trips with 3 in the back seat. I do miss my truck bed. I wanted another pickup, but wife won with the SUV. She was right, it is more comfortable to travel. 4 captain chairs and 3rd row bench offers enough separation and personal space to spread out. We took it on a 2600 mile round trip with our family of 5 plus grandma and everyone was comfortable. We used a roof carrier and rear hitch mounted carrier to offer more space inside.
You are on the right track for single rear wheel 1-ton if you decide on pickups.
There is confusion on 2014 2500 Suburbans. The fleet ordering guide lists it, but not the regular order guide. When are you looking at purchasing? 2500s are hard to find. I was willing to order if I needed to, but found a leftover 2011 model in October 2011. It was traded from a dealer 300 miles away.
