Unless the nut, rod threads and/or the sleeve threads are not an exact match regarding diameter and/or pitch.
My nut turned very freely by just moving one finger against it. One would think a nut that size would take a bit more force to be moved on the rod threads. Nuts most likely are an off the shelf item and the drag link rod is built to the spec of the sleeve and nuts.
So if the rod is slightly undersized, then "Houston we have a problem"!
