I literally had my truck in last week to clean up some more recalls on it. Then this morning my Ram app notifies me that I have yet another recall. Problem with the steering linkage, apparently. No parts available yet. It says 2013-2017 models so my assumption is this will hit all the HD models with the Gen 4 front suspension. This is the one significant black eye on my Ram. I get that recalls happen, even our Honda Pilot has had two of them (2010 model). This is now 6 recalls and 2 "campaigns". Only one has actually caused me any trouble but that's still ridiculous. I have better things to do than take my truck back to the dealership to fix recalls. Rant over.

Most of the recalls that have occured with my RAM were nothing - literally. Every time I bring my truck in for some recall they check it and find nothing needs to be done. Just a waste of my time. But all makes suffer from lots of recalls these days. Call it field engineering.

ScottG, you are right on the money. Field Engineering, as we are the road test crew. Thank goodness for recalls, as the manufacture pays for slip up. And the internet, remember the days you would take your vehicle to the dealer and say "it is doing such and such", and the service manager would say "we never heard of such an instance". Well now the sun is on the other dogs butt!

You can thank GM and their shady cover up of the faulty ignition switches for the increase in recalls. After GM got slapped, every auto maker is being much more cautious and pro-active now. It's a pain, and there are far too many I agree.

There has been a lot of front end issues with the dodge and then the ram trucks.
