I had the same thought.
OP have you weighed the truck loaded and unloaded with the trailer? You may not be adjusting the WD hitch properly.
The thing is...no matter what sway control you use they are all friction based. The ONLY exceptions are the Pullrite, the Hensley twins, and the Blue Ox Sway Pro to some degree.
I pulled my 7700 GVWR 31 ft trailer with a F150 and I made scaled sure that I had my front axle loaded, steered great with no issues like you described.
Now, when I towed the same trailer with an expedition and the weight dist hitch not set up properly I did experience the same thing.
Reload the front axle and see if the problem goes away. Or if you have friction controls, back off on the tension screw 1/4 turn and see if that takes care of the issue.
Time to trouble shoot this issue. You do not want to be fighting that if you get into an evasive maneuver.
