Stopped by the Ram dealer

I had trouble trying to do a build on a 2013 3500 dually on the internet on Sunday. So I stopped by the dealer to try it there.

When it came to adding a transmission I wanted the new aisin 6 speed quoted.So the sales guy tells me the old style is only available, that they stopped the aisin???? I told him I wasn't buying his answer.That is where we left it.

So what gives? Can one still order the 2013?

    At one time, a month or so ago, they ran out of the Aisin tranny to link to the Cummins. I read about it on the cummins forum.. Some had wanted to get the Aisin tranny, but had to settle for the 68RFE tranny....I would think they have the Aisin available again. May be easier to find one on a lot already built, but that's just a guess on my part.

    There's one (longhorn) in-transit to a nearby dealer. Not the color I want, and it has doesn't have the Aisin or 4:10 rear. I really want both of those.Maybe it was one of those not getting the Aisin.I'll probably end up ordering one to my liking. It sounds like I'd have to wait for a hitch anyways to go with the factory installed hitch mounts.

    Anyone have pics of the 2013 3500 dually in the black gold pearl coat Laramie?
  • Order bank opens on June 5th ( about 2 weeks) for the MY 2014 which is the direction I'm going.
    No offence Jim but those 1st year runs can be a real learning experience.
    $3k must be a real A$$ pleasure with the Longhorn leather. Just me but my A$$ ain't that picky, a Laramie will suit my behind fine just as it does now.
    I understand the 2013 don't have the Longhorn stitching, that alone might win me over to one. Hate the cowboy theme personally.

  • There is no comparison with the leather in the Laramie compared to the Longhorn.

    I wanted a Laramie when I was looking but I had already looked at a Longhorn so you guessed it I have a Longhorn.
  • He was wrong. If you get the 850 torque engine you have to get the Aisin.
  • I don't remember what all is included in Longhorn vs. Laramie, but the leather in the Longhorn is VERY nice.

    Not to me. Prefer no leather.

    Sorry, I should have said there both leather. Just the longhorn is a bit nicer and has the fancy stitching.
  • Well I just got off the internet and was able to build one with the aisin. I don't know what happened yesterday. Anyway, the dealer doesn't know what their talking about. It's really sad when one is looking at a truck at almost $70,000.:M

    So the difference between a identical Laramie & Laramie longhorn is just the difference in leather and painted bumpers? $2700.00

    Is the leather really worth the difference?

    longhorn = 66,235
    laramie = 63,535
