I apologize if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find any info.When storing the TT for long-ish periods of time (two weeks or more, let's say), do you do so with the slide out or in? I've always stored mine with it in, but have seen several with slides out.Thoughts? Much appreciated.E.

When ours is not in use, we keep the slide closed. No purpose served in keeping it open. Would just have to close it to head on down the road.

In if it's in storage and not in use. What if you went to pull it out of storage and the slide wouldn't go in for some reason?Bill

With most slides, they seal as well in as out but I like Bill's reasoning for keeping it in. Also, if your like me and you heat it just enough to keep it from freezing, you have less area to heat with it in.I don't think either way is wrong.

I don't have slides. If I did, they would be in during storage. It would be less area for the wind to catch or throw something against the TT and less chance of a leak. JMO

In/out makes no real difference. At home I leave them open during the summer. Easier to do things that way. Right now there closed because I have planted new grass out there.

Put it in. One less roof to maintain if it's in 90% off the time.

The word around here is to leave them out. reason is that the seals will stick if closed for a long time then pull lose when its opened.

Thanks guys. Sounds like there's no real good or bad reason for either. I'll continue storing it closed. We keep it at a friend's house and we always load it/unload it at home. Having it closed helps when I go get it and drop it off - one less thing to worry about.

I usually leave closed due to where i park is not level and i am to lazy to level it.

In - why needlessly expose the top of the slide-out to the elements? When in, you have a tight seal.

I leave mine out during the season because it's easier to pack/unpack or run out and grab something from the camper. After we park the camper for the winter the slide is generally in, though.

It makes little difference either way.

Ours is out, it makes loading and unloading easier during the summer. In the off season, it is inside a shop and slide is out. We like to be able to go in when we want.

If they're in you don't have to check them for debris before hooking up (less of an issue with a topper though).
