Storing your WDH spring bars

I put the pins back in and place the bars back on the levers. Thought that was what the holes drilled in them was for. I doubt if steel bars will damage each other stored together.

On the Reese there is a pin that can be pulled back to release the spring bar. However, if you swing the bar around toward the bumper the grove where the pin sits goes away and the pin is pushed back and releases the spring bar. You don't actually have to pull the pin back to release the spring bar.
Glad it works for you. Not an option here.

Glad you liked the idea. I have no worry about someone swiping the bars or sway control at the camp grounds we go to.

We use the old carry bags for folding camping chairs. The chairs usually don't last as long as the bags do. We use Blue Ox WD and the bars and chains fit perfectly. Have also use the bags that attach to leaf blower when you use them for shredding. We just blow our leafs into the woods so they don't ever get used. Those bags are a lot bigger but pretty heavy duty.

I keep them (bars and hitch head) in the front pass through storage. Keeps them clean, dry and safe! I have an old piece of carpet i lay them on.

When at home and at the campground, I put the greased end of the bars inside two ziplock bags and slide them into the front storage compartment under the front dinette seat.

The hitch head sits on my large workbench in my shop (at home) so it's off the ground and dry.

When at the campground and set up, I usually have enough of my wooden blocks and cribbing deployed under the tires, tongue and crank down jack that there is enough room to store both the bars and hitch head inside the storage compartment where they are locked up and dry.

For me, it's got nothing to do with cosmetic appearance preservation and more to keep them dry, free of rust and dirt (especially on the greased surfaces) and most importantly a theft deterrent.
