I would never consider an add-on that directly touches the body, steel or Al. Around here, you break or drill through the galvanized steel and you're asking for corrosion.
Steel bumpers and hitches should only touch the steel frame. But I wonder about Back-Racks and such with the Al truck bed? Adhesives only?
I would think Ford has educated parts and add-on suppliers about how best to do it so there are no corrosion issues. But back-yard fabricators and mechanics may make mistakes for sure.
