Studded 19.5 snow tires?
Good evening all!
My 16" studded tired are almost done. I get nervous traveling around Alaska with the TC with the 235-85-16e tires. In the summer I run 265-70-19.5 on vision rims. Today I called a tire distributor in Anchorage and asked what was available in 225-70-19.5 for a studded traction drive tire. They gave me three choices, and the one I can possibly afford are the Dayton D630D. They are not a 'mud' tire but seem to offer a decent lugged tread.
Has anyone used these Daytons? Has anyone else run a studded 19.5 traction tire? If so what? I am stepping down to the smaller 225-70-19.5 to allow me to use the same chains I have for my 235-85-16 tires.
thoughts?
Thanks!!
Garry
