Studded 19.5 snow tires?

I have no personal experience with Dayton tires but the brand has been around for many years , mostly truck tires . I believe Dayton is now owned by Bridgestone .

That's correct ticki. The reviews that I can find seem good. Has anyone any experience with any studded 19.5 tires?

Check the load rating on that size of 19.5 you are not really gaining any load carrying increase until you go to the 245 size

Most 235-85-16s are rated around 3000-3100 lbs iirc, so a load G tire like the op is talking about is significantly stiffer.
No experience with those daytons, but looking at the tread, considering winter use only, I'd think studded and siped, they would be very good in the snow. Not as good as an open block tread mud tire in deep snow but they're pretty aggressive and siping will make them stick better to the snowpacked roads.

Here is the cut sheet on them. I have made one trip to the mainland with the camper in the winter, and did fine, but I was always concerned about the tires. With the entire family and our gear, i roll around 10,600... But when we are on our return trip to the island of Kodiak and getting on the ferry we are closer to 11,600, and one trip we were at 11,900. Granted, that was only from Kenai down to Homer, but that can be a rough stretch of road, especially in the winter. That is why I am looking at moving to 19.5 winter tires, mounted on my existing 19.5 Vision rims. Then maybe by spring, I can save enough to get a new set of Vision rims for putting the summer 265-70-19.5's on.
Big dreams, but living in Alaska has it challenges!

Mine are siped and do well enough in the slick stuff. No stud experience though.

I have found this tire as well, but it does not come with stud holes for studding. Does anyone know if new tires can be "drilled' for stud installation?

You should be able to drill your own tires with whatever pattern you want and get them studded.

Getting them mounted today. They will be smaller than my 265-70-19.5 summer tires, but I will be able to run chains without fear of hitting any metal, as well as use my old chains from my 235-85-16 snow tires.
