Sub flooring question

Hey all
New to this site. We just bought a 68 Bell and have to replace the entire floor. Luckily, we got it for a song. I am looking around for suggestions as to what works best for the 2 layers of sub floor. Marine plywood keeps coming up but at over 75$ a sheet, it’s not really within our budget. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

EDGE GOLD used here by most all builders

  • CDX, 2 coats of an oil based primer. Add some linseed oil. Really saturate the edges AFTER they are cut !
  • CDX holds up well. Most new trailers have chipboard floors or regular plywood.
  • You can use CDX plywood, then paint it the faces, and make sure to seal ALL the edges. It has a water resistant adhesive.

I would get about 10 years from a plywood bed on a utility trailer, with the bed fully exposed to the weather in FL. Certainly would last a lot longer without rain hitting the topside.

My friend refurbished an Airstream. Used Starboard flooring. Expensive, but will last forever...

    Good luck on your project.
