I'm going with brochure rate and adding a a couple of hundred pounds for loading. I'm looking at the 21 ft. Line that Forest River has. The line with the slides. Just beginning my search. Thanks for responses so far.
If that is the dry weight. A Expedition, or Burb is the minimum TV you will need. Both are good to over 8000lb IF properly equipped. - Saint_AugustineExplorerSorry about vagueness. we do not have the trailer or the tow vehicle. We want to match. Basically we ant a TT about 21 ft that can sleep two comfortably without making the couch one bed and the dinette another. We want to sleep together in a bed that stays a bed. We want to shower comfortably. We had two Pleasure Ways but the showers were not usable in our opinion. We have been into RVing a long time and have never "both" been satisfied with the same unit. This time we want to try harder to get it right. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Bob - Grit_dogNavigatorIf 4200 is gvw of the trailer and you're towing mostly in the flatlands then many capable mid size SUVs. Jeep GC, 4 runner, Durango etc.
Suspect you're quoting "dry weight" which is notoriuosly understated or misleading. In which case, the vehicles above would be BARE minimum I'd consider and Tahoe/Expedition would be much better suited.
You need to be more specific though. Your question was about as vague as they get and responses will vary from Highlander to 2500 Suburban for reccomendations. - Saint_AugustineExplorerI'm going with brochure rate and adding a a couple of hundred pounds for loading. if 4200 is the actual weight, a Highlander with tow package is rated for 5,000 lbs. I towed my 3750 lb. tt with mine. ignore mfrs. given weight, ignore GVWR unless you plan on loading it to the max.

Yes; but...finding a Highlander with the tow package is like finding gold. My understanding is that only about 15% of the Highlanders imported have the tow package. And without it, you may be looking at a 2000 lb or 3500 lb towing capacity.
The 4Runner is the SUV we went with for a 5000lb towing capacity. Love it.

I recently found out that tacoma limiteds were also rare or gold if you prefer. went to tru car, local dealer swapped a dealer 75 miles away and got one in that I bought. wouldn't give up that easily.
bumpy - TerryallanExplorer IISomething else to think about. A vehicle with a 5000lb tow capacity towing a 4200lb trailer will get overloaded real fast, IF you put a family and any gear in the SUV.
Remember. Every pound you put into the TV comes off the tow capacity. So as the weight in the TV goes up, the tow capacity comes down. - SpeakEasyExplorer

Is 4200lbs the fictional dry weight or its actual scaled weight?
What is the dry hitch weight? - TerryallanExplorer II

Suburban, or Expedition. Anything else will be over loaded or near overloaded.
