I have a 2001 Chevy Suburban 2500 2WD 8.1L 4:10 ratio and when I pulled our 8K TT used to get 9 mpg round trip of 1500 miles from IN to SC and back. On the highway w/o a trailer around 14 mpg. With the 4L80 trans which is 4 speed never noticed a problem with RPM on hills. Plus it has a 12K towing capacity. Mine just turned 50K and is like new, plan on keeping it until I have nothing to tow.
