The later models of the V10('03+) had more HP & TQ, due to the 3V heads and varable runner intake.
I have a '99 F250 CC SB w the V10 and 4.30's it has been a great truck with mostly in town mileage on it and a bit of New England abuse of fighting deep snow on my steep uphill paved driveway. Best mpg was when I got it (1 year old and 28K on the odo) it has a full Banks exhaust, ram air and Trans command module) was 16.2 on the hiway. I looked for an Excursion diesel for the wife, but could only find hi mileage or abused ones. Wound up getting her a Hummer H2. It has also been a nice vehicle.
I recently replaced my Ford with a new Ram diesel and I love it.
