You will never pass a gas station without stopping, but you can't beat it for gasser that tows. In my view I would not even consider a 6.0. There just is no upside to the 6. (save maybe an mpg)
On the flip side, I have never understood those who say they cant feel the tow in a 8.1. I tow 10K lbs., and I can tell you that even with 8.1 displacement, that engine is busting a n@t.
With the 6.0 the big plus in my mind is availability...there are many to choose from.
I know what you mean about the big gasser still pulling hard. My V10 was working just like my 5.4 before it on the same grades... it was the same RPM and everything. Power was about the same.. mostly because the truck weighed a ton more itself.
