My 8.1 van is just as quick going from 70 to 90 mph as my 2003 6.0 PSD Excursion when fully loaded ( non towing) in 90 deg heat with the AC on when traveling on I-95 to Florida in the summer and the van's AC works much better. The trans stays in OD even on grades fully loaded in 90 deg heat.
