We have the K2500 4x4 Burb with 8.1L and its a beast. I do not know if the Excursion is 3/4 ton or not. Our Burb is rated for 12,000lbs of towing. Our first TT was small and light 27 around 5000lb which we sold and bought an Aluminum frame Sunnybrook at 7,000lbs. Both being unloaded weights. Add water and gear and it weighs at least another 1500 lbs. The burb pulls it no prob and being a 3/4 ton it barely moves when hitched up. We have over 195,000 miles on it and if we could find another one we would buy it. So our replacement will be a one ton diesel quad cab short bed as out next TT will be a fiver now that we are empty nesters, I want a king bed and bigger bath.:)
