This may have nothing to do with anything but my last Suburban had two gas tanks. As I understand it there was a pump inside one of them that would pump the gas back to the first tank. This is a different pump than the fuel pump. Apparently that pump can go bad and suck the life out of the battery/alternator when it is called upon to work. Is there any chance your electrical problems happen when the fuel gauge shows less than 1/2 full?
