Well it is fixed!! After replacing the gas regulator the furnace is working. Strange though...the hot water heater was working on gas but the furnace was not. That is why I assumed the regulator was OK. Low and behold....it was a defective regulator.
Thanks to all with your help on this one. Now I wont have to bring 3 space heaters with me on the Thanksgiving Holiday.
furnace BTU draw is likely 30K to 50K. WH BTU is around 10-12K BTU.
so furnace draws 3-5 x the BTU's.
