Suburban oven - repeatedly goes off after a while

I bought a TC years ago that had the same problem. Thinking the thermo-couple may be dirty I placed a heavy rag under it and sprayed it down with carburetor cleaner. Lot's of black junk came off it and it worked perfectly ever after.
So it won't cost much to give this a try even if it doesn't work.
