Suggestions for a lightweight small travel trailer

We just purchased a 2013 Jeep Sport Wrangler with a towing capacity of 4000 pounds. We're looking for a small lightweight single axle, travel trailer that we can pull into the boonies. We would like something that has a queen bed (or close size to a queen bed), refrigerator, toilet/shower and stove top. Something in the 12 to 14 Foot length range.

Also, I'm 6 foot 4" and I'll need something at least that interior height to consider purchasing.

We definitely don't want additional sleeping space/bunks or slide outs. Any suggestions for a used or new model would be most appreciated.

Thanks
  • I was in error and the total capacity for my jeep is 2000 pounds. This pretty much eliminates the idea of a small travel trailer.
  • You might have a look at these:
    Lil Snoozy: 6'4" headroom
    Eggcamper: 6'7" headroom
These are 17' long, but assuming you have the Unlimited (longer wheelbase) you should be ok... other than the rough ride, of course! These are light weight enough and streamlined enough in shape to keep your Wrangler from struggling too badly. Some sway control would still be wise with a vehicle like yours, even with a short trailer, because Wranglers aren't known for impeccable highway handling to begin with.
  • R-pod or something similar will be your best bet. The Jeep isn't going to like dragging a sail behind it. The R-Pods shape will minimize that a little (though a pop-up would be better).
