For comparison, I am carrying our 4200lb (dry) Fleetwood on extended wheelbase (sold as cab & chassis) F350 dually. The camper stands about 12 ft tall to roof-line and more for AC.
The beefed up suspension without any modification gives me full confidence, so with 320 hp Powerstroke I beat 95% of Sacramento traffic going to our favorite camping spots.
Per my experience trucks up to 3500/350 series are build as grocery getters (even duallies). Short wheelbase and soft suspension.
For heavy camper you will love beefed up chassis like mine or for most of the models - 550 comes with long wheelbase as standard.
I had airbags added even on F450 flatbed as the axle too much forward would allow for too much sag.
