I would definitely wait for a 5.7. I'm towing pretty heavy with mine and while I know it's there, the 5.7 makes short work of it. I have a weight distribution hitch and dual sway bars. The dual sway bars are left over from the F250 Sicko that I traded for the Tundra, so why not use them. Don't be afraid to let the engine roar, it's what it was designed for.
