I had a 2002 Forester (purchased new) and in many ways I loved it, but I also discovered that I'm more of a "truck guy" so I sold it to a friend & bought a 4Runner.
Plus, the reason FIL wants a Sequoia is for true 8-passenger capacity. I tried to get him to consider a Suburban or Excursion but he wants what he wants and I didn't argue much, as I've had 3 Toyota SUVs & all were outstanding.
