I'm not sure what they run on the Sequoia, but the Tundras with the 6 speed get the 4.30 rear end which makes a huge difference when towing. Don't know if the Sequoia gets the same.
I believe the current gen Sequoia runs the same trans & axle ratios as the Tundra but the FIL wants an 05-07, which is the previous gen body style with a 5-speed auto (same ratios as the 6 but 1less OD gear) with 4.10 axle gears.
The 4.10 will almost be wasted on him, as the most he'll ever tow with it will be a small utility trailer and that'll be rare at that.
