I would’ve asked the dealer why it’s not covered? Just because you have a hitch is not a reason when it has a tow rating. They would have to prove you towed more than the established tow weight before they say it cannot be covered. Sounds like you found a dealer that make people think all dealers are crooks. They all aren’t. You just found a bad one. I would go back and ask him to prove the failure is from towing. If they say they can’t then it’s covered. Otherwise advise them that you are going to call Kia directly and ask them why there is a defect in their vehicle that makes it not able to tow below it’s stated tow capacity? Believe me, they will get back to the dealer quickly and you will get a phone call to bring it in to have it repaired. However I wouldn’t go back to that dealer for anything!
